Marcus has held a variety of appointments in brand strategy and marketing for the private and public sectors. A believer in nurturing tomorrow’s talents, he serves in advisory capacities at institutions like the UOB-SMU Asian Enterprise Institute at the Singapore Management University and the Institute of Public Relations Singapore, to name a few.
Prior to his role, Marcus headed corporate communication for Tableau Software (NYSE: DATA) where he led public affairs, analyst relations and communication for Asia Pacific. When he was at Ogilvy and Mather, Marcus led public relations for clients such as Canon (NYSE: CAJ), Tencent (SEHK:700), Salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM), and the Ministry of Culture Community and Youth for Singapore's SG50 jubilee program. He was tapped to lead campaign communication for a United Nations program in Singapore, which celebrated the International Year of Co-operative social enterprises in 2012.
Marcus was named Singapore’s top 10 “Notable Chief Marketing Officers under 40” and a Linkedin Power Profile in 2017. He has a Master’s of Science degree from the Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School at University College Dublin, and earned his second Master's degree under a government scholarship with the Singapore Management University. His perspectives have been sought by publications like Asia Times, The Diplomat, The Business Times, The Straits Times, TODAY, and the Singapore Business Review.
