The Diploma in Sport & Leisure Management is designed for those who wish to focus on providing broad business, events management, marketing and support services to the sport and leisure industry. Students pursuing this programme will be equipped with practical knowledge on the sports and leisure landscape in Singapore, sports and leisure related management, planning and programming skills, as well as events and facility management, and marketing principles, among other topics. Upon completion, graduates will be well-suited for careers in the sport industry and leisure/tourism industry.

The programme aims to:

• provide students with core knowledge on subjects related to sport and exercise sciences such as nutrition, psychology, functional anatomy, physiology, and strength and conditioning;
• apply the above knowledge towards developing skills in the principles of coaching and analysis of skills
• equip students with hands-on and industry-related experience through quality supervision and applied projects.

Accreditation

This diploma programme offered by PSB Academy is accredited by the International Sports Professional Associations (ISPA) - the largest international accreditation body for professionals serving athletes and atheletic communities worldwide. The ISPA is also a specialty certification authority best known for the creation of the first and only certification for healthcare providers whom treat and rehabilitate patients of workers' compensation (CWcHP).

Course Structure

• The programme are conducted on a full-time or part-time basis.
• The 1-year programme consists of 8 modules with a total of 240 hours (for part-time) and 360 hours (for full-time) of contact time

Duration

The programme can be completed in 12 months.

Assessment and Examination

Each module consists of coursework as well as examination. Students learn through a combination of lectures, tutorials, case studies, discussions, role-plays, quizzes and hands-on practice sessions.

Entry Requirements

• 3 GCE 'O' levels. Applicants must have a grade 1 to 7 in English or equivalent; OR
• 5 GCE 'N' levels or equivalent, including a pass in English
  
  Applicants who do not meet the above requirements may apply, but will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
