The Higher Diploma in Information Technology course is specially designed for our PSB Diploma in InfoComm Technology graduates. Upon graduation, you may be granted direct entry into the final year of the Bachelor of Information Technology, awarded by The University of Newcastle, Australia.

Progression Pathway

Upon successful completion of this programme, graduates can proceed on to the Bachelor of Information Technology degree, awarded by The University of Newcastle, Australia. Advanced standing may be granted, subject to university’s entry requirements.

Course Structure

This programme consists of 5 modules, amounting to a total of 225 contact hours for the part-time pathway.

Course Outline

• Database Systems
• Computer Organisation
• Operating Systems
• Advanced Java Programming
• Network Services

The delivery of modules may not follow the sequence as shown and is subject to change.

Duration

The programme will take approximately 9 months to complete.

Assessment and Examination

At the commencement of each module, students will be provided the assessment mode and weightings for the module. Most modules have several points of assessment, which may include assignments, tests, projects and final examinations.

Entry Requirements

The minimum entry requirements are:

• A Diploma in a related discipline or its equivalent, including at least a Grade 7 in GCE 'O' Level English

Applicants who do not meet the above requirements may also apply, but will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
