PSB Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Design Awarded by PSB Academy The Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Design programme is designed to provide students interested to pursue an engineering career with a broad curriculum consisting of mechanical engineering principles and concepts. The programme will begin with a comprehensive coverage of physics and mathematics fundamentals which include general physics, thermal physics, electromagnetism, algebra and calculus required for the engineering diploma programme. In addition, students will learn the core areas for mechanical engineering curriculum which include mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science and structural analysis. Students will also learn tools like engineering drawing and computing. New areas such as engineering economics, sustainable technologies, material selection criteria and industrial automation are also incorporated to equip the student with relevant skills required in today’s industries. Throughout the programme, students will pick up practical skills through laboratory sessions, with the modules on Mechanical Engineering Design and Mechanical Design Project allowing practical problem-solving experience to be gained through projects. The lab sessions would be conducted in PSB Academy's very own fully-equipped Electronics & Electrical Project Laboratories, Mechanical & Materials Laboratories as well as Chemistry laboratories, in a safe and conducive training environment for all our engineering students. Progression Pathway Upon successful completion of this programme, graduates can proceed on to a Bachelor of Engineering degree, awarded by The University of Newcastle, Australia. Advanced standing may be granted, subject to University’s entry requirements.
