The Certificate in Business Management course is aimed at helping individuals who want to equip themselves with comprehensive business knowledge to deal effectively with the rapidly changing environment and organisational operations. It also helps to prepare participants in assuming higher levels of responsibility.

At the end of this programme, students will be able to:

• Understand the theory and practice of various functional management areas
• Apply various functional management skills to increase the productivity and business efficiency in their areas of responsibility

Progression Pathway

Upon successful completion of this programme, students can gain entry into the Foundation Diploma in Business Studies, leading to a Business-related Degree awarded by:

• University of Newcastle, Australia, or
• University of Wollongong

Alternatively, students can also gain entry into the PSB Academy Diploma in Business Administration Programme and choose from a suite of majors, after successful completion of the Certificate.

Course Structure

This programme consists of 4 modules, amounting to a total of 108 contact hours for both the full-time pathway and the part-time pathway.

• Fundamentals of Accounting

The delivery of modules may not follow the sequence as shown and is subject to change.

Duration

The programme is delivered over 2 months for the full-time pathway and 4 months for the part-time pathway.

Assessment and Examination

At the commencement of each module, students will be provided the assessment mode and weightings for the module.  Most modules have several points of assessment, which may include assignments, tests, projects and final examinations.

Entry Requirements

The minimum entry requirements are:

• 2 GCE 'O' Level passes or equivalent, including English, OR
• 3 GCE 'N' Level passes or equivalent  including English, with at least 1 year of work experience
