Have you always been fascinated by computers and IT and have already achieved a basic qualification in this area? Would you like to advance your knowledge and take the next step to getting your degree?

The PSB Higher Diploma in IT course is specially designed for PSB Diploma in IT graduates. Upon graduation, you will gain direct entry into the final year of the Bachelor of Information Technology, awarded by The University of Newcastle, Australia.

Progression Pathway

Upon successful completion of the programme, students can advance to  the Bachelor of Information Technology offered by The University of Newcastle, Australia (subject to University’s entry requirements).

Course Structure

This course consists of 5 modules with a total of 288 contact hours.

• Advanced Java Programming
• Network Services

Duration

The course can be completed in a minimum period of 10 months.

Assessment and Examination

At the commencement of each module, students will be provided the assessment mode and weightings for the module. Most modules have several points of assessment, which may include laboratory assignments, tests, projects and final examinations.

Entry Requirements

The minimum entry requirements are:

• PSB Diploma in InfoComm Technology; or
• Diploma in Computer Studies/ Information Technology from other private schools; or
• Diploma in Engineering related programmes; and
• A minimum of 2 GCE 'A' levels (with credit in General Paper) or equivalent
