PSB Diploma in Human Resource Management

If you were the head of a company, how would you motivate your staff to giving their best? How would you help individuals upgrade themselves and give them opportunities to be creative? It is no exaggeration to say that a company is as good as the people behind it.

The people element is extremely important as it determines how well organisations transform and function in the emerging business landscapes of the 21st century. Power to the People.

This course is created to develop students' key competencies required for the effective management of human resource issues. The curriculum focuses on the development of knowledge and skills to deal with areas such as employee selection and assessment, compensation and benefits, training and development.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Understand the theory and practice of the specific functions and applications of personnel administration within an organisation
  • Understand how to improve these specific functional management competencies within an organisation
  • Apply specific functional management skills to increase the productivity and business efficiency of their areas of responsibility, especially in the areas of interpersonal or human relations and managing people
  • Assume higher levels of responsibility within specific functional management areas as a result of newly acquired/improved skill

The Diploma in Human Resource Management is validated by one of the world's leading providers of international qualifications and assessment, the Cambridge International Examinations, University of Cambridge (CIE). CIE offers examinations and qualifications in more than 150 countries, and are accepted and recognised by leading universities and employers across the world.

Progression Pathway

Upon successful completion, graduates of this programme can advance on to a business-related PSB Academy Advanced Diploma or a Bachelor’s Degree from the following universities (subject to University’s entry requirements).

  • Loughborough University
  • University of Newcastle, Australia
  • University of Wollongong, Australia

This course consists of 10 modules with a total of 300 contact hours.

Assessment and Examination

At the commencement of each module, students will be provided the assessment mode and weightings for the module. Most modules have several points of assessment, which may include assignments, tests, projects and final examinations.

Duration

The course can be completed within a minimum period of 18 months.

Entry Requirements

The minimum entry requirements are:

  • 5 GCE 'O' levels including a pass in English/Higher NITEC (ITC); or
  • 3 GCE 'O' levels including a pass in English with three years of working experience; or
  • PSB Certificate in Business Administration; or
  • ITE Certificate in Business Studies (Accounting/Secretarial) with one year of working experience; or
  • ITE Certificate in Office Skills with three years of working experience; or
  • Singapore Confederation of Industries Certificate in HRM

Applicants who do not meet the above requirements may also apply, but will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

  • Study grants are only applicable to the stated 2010 intakes listed above
  • Students on the above-mentioned grants will not be eligible for other types of grants or fee discounts at PSB Academy.
  • Students on government funding schemes are not eligible for the above-mentioned grants.
  • The study grant is not applicable to international students.

SDF Funding : Course fee after SDF-AIP is S$2,126.50. SDF Funding is Approved-in-Principle (SDF-AIP). Terms and conditions apply and subject to change without prior notice. SDF funding is not applicable to international students.
