As consumers and customers we often do not realise the chain of steps involved in making sure the goods we purchase reach us on time. There is a system or mechanism of some kind at work, making sure that the process from raw materials to finished product is a seamless one. It is known as supply chain.

As one of our newest course offerings, a diploma in supply chain management offers exciting opportunities in the job market.

This programme aims to equip participants with an appreciation and the ability to apply the concepts, theory and practices of the supply chain management in modern-day business enterprises, and how the various sub-functions and entities come together to achieve corporate objectives.
At the end of this programme, participants will be able to:

• Acquire a comprehensive knowledge of business skills which can be adapted to meet the specific needs of the company concerned
• Increase their efficiency and effectiveness in planning, organising, directing and controlling a business process operation
• Identify and apply supply chain management concepts and practices
• Understand the role of supply chain management in the Organisation and the Economy
• Have a working knowledge of the individual tasks within the logistics function
• Understand the relationships between transportation, warehousing and inventory and their impact on a firm's customer service levels and cost
• Understand the complexities of global business management

Progression Pathway

Upon successful completion, graduates can advance on to the Bachelor of Commerce (Supply Chain Management), awarded by The University of Wollongong, with advance standing (subject to University’s entry requirements).

Duration

The course can be completed within a minimum period of 24 months.

Assessment and Examination

At the commencement of each module, students will be provided the assessment mode and weightings for the module. Most modules have several points of assessment, which may include assignments, tests, projects and final examinations.

Entry Requirements

The minimum entry requirements are:

• 5 GCE 'O' levels including a pass in English; or
• 3 GCE 'O' levels including a pass in English with three years of working experience; or
• Higher NITEC (ITC), Certificate in Office Skills or equivalent

Applicants who do not meet the above requirements may also apply, but will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
