The power of information and communication technologies in this new age economy cannot be overstated. To gain a foothold in this domain, and to help make you a marketable professional, this course is the first step.

The PSB Diploma in InfoComm Technology provides students with a strong basic foundation to develop relevant applications for businesses and public organisations. Students will be equipped with the essential knowledge of business processes and technical skills required to harness the power of information and communication technologies. They will also be able to adopt the good practices in Software Engineering to analyse, design, develop and implement effective information systems to support various industries' information needs.

Progression Pathway

Upon successful completion, graduates of this programme can advance on to PSB Higher Diploma in Information Technology; followed by Bachelor of Information Technology, awarded by The University of Newcastle, Australia, with advance standing (subject to University’s entry requirements).

Course Structure

This course consists of 10 modules with a total of 600 contact hours.

Assessment and Examination

At the commencement of each module, students will be provided the assessment mode and weightings for the module. Most modules have several points of assessment, which may include laboratory assignments, tests, projects and final examinations.
 

Duration

The course can be completed within a minimum period of 20 months.

Entry Requirements

The minimum entry requirements are:

• 5 credits in GCE ‘O’ levels including a pass in English; or
• NITEC (NTC2) or Higher NITEC (ITC) in any discipline; or
• Diploma in other discipline

Applicants who do not meet the above requirements may also apply, but will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
