PSB Diploma in Electrical Engineering Awarded by PSB Academy STUDY GRANT AVAILABLE If the idea of designing or modifying machines and systems used in various manufacturing and service industries appeals to you, then this course might just be for you. Engineering technologists are the key personnel in most engineering processes and applications-related activities. Besides modifying or designing the machines, these specialists also ensure the efficient operation of the machines, equipment installed and systems. The main objective of this part-time diploma course is to train working adults to be competent in their respective fields of engineering and to upgrade their knowledge and skills. Progression Pathway Upon successful completion, graduates of this programme can advance on to a Bachelor in Engineering, awarded by The University of Newcastle, Australia, with advance standing (subject to University’s entry requirements). Course Structure The full-time course consists of 16 modules with a total of 1190 contact hours. The part-time course consists of 16 modules with a total of 894 contact hours Course Outline
Assessment and Examination At the commencement of each module, students will be provided the assessment mode and weightings for the module. Most modules have several points of assessment, which may include assignments, tests, projects and final examinations. Duration This programme is delivered over 22 months on a full-time basis and 32 months on a part-time basis. Entry Requirements The minimum entry requirements are:
Applicants who do not meet the above requirements may advance to the Diploma programme upon successful completion of the Preparatory Course for Engineering Diploma. Modules studied include Mathematics and Physics over a period of 4 months. A fee of S$695.50 (Inclusive of GST) will be applicable.
