PSB Diploma in Industrial Engineering

Awarded by PSB Academy

STUDY GRANT AVAILABLE

Many companies today operate in a global environment rife with competition. The need for trained productivity and quality improvement specialists is growing as more organisations become increasingly concerned over wastage (of time, money, materials and energy), and the toll it takes on competitiveness.

The Diploma in Industrial Engineering syllabus incorporates current industry-wide Lean Six Sigma thinking and practice. Lean Six Sigma is a highly disciplined process that helps practitioners focus on developing, and delivering, near-perfect products and services. It is a proven management tool that enables companies to increase profitability by eliminating wastes and reducing variations.

Students will learn practical problem solving and decision making skills using DMAIC – Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. Students will also benefit from Lean Six Sigma by learning how to embrace, adopt and apply the concepts and tools learnt from other modules in the diploma programme.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Identify problems affecting productivity in an organization;
  • Target specific areas in a company for efficiency improvement;
  • Improve, design and recommend changes to existing systems, methods and procedures so as to help organizations reduce costs, improve quality and fulfil commitments;
