PSB Certificate in Industrial Engineering

This course is tailored for individuals interested in designing and implementing integrated systems in the manufacturing & business environment. Students will be able to identify and solve problems affecting productivity.
Technicians, engineers, supervisors and managers that perform industrial engineering function will find the course extremely useful for improving and streamlining production and operational arrangements.
At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Identify problems affecting productivity at the shopfloor
  • Understand the techniques and applications of Industrial Engineering
  • Analyse and design the appropriate production and control systems
  •  Improve and streamline production and operational arrangements

Progression Path

Graduates of this course can advance on to the PSB Diploma in Industrial Engineering.

Course Structure

This course consists of 4 modules with a total of 120 contact hours.

  • Methods Engineering
  • Work Measurement Techniques
  • Quality Control

Duration

This programme is delivered over 10 months on a part-time basis.

The minimum entry requirements are:

  • 2 GCE ‘N' Levels including a pass in English with 1 year of working experience
  • NITEC (NTC 2) with 1 year of working experience

Applicants who do not meet the above requirements may also apply, but will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Assessment and Examination

At the commencement of each module, students will be provided the assessment mode and weightings for the module. Most modules have several points of assessment, which may include assignments, tests, projects and final examinations.
