Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) 

Awarded by The University of Wollongong, Australia

This course provides graduates with the skills to generate products and services for which there is a defined customer need, and to position those products or services in the market with effective branding, promotion, pricing and distribution strategies. The course is geared towards problem-solving and management decision-making.

Through subjects including market research, internet marketing, and international marketing, students learn how to analyse, plan, organise, motivate and control the marketing process; as well as the communication skills and creative thinking that are essential to successful marketing.

Course Structure

The programme is specially designed with the objective of giving students with GCE ‘O’ levels or equivalent a head start to an undergraduate degree programme. It is jointly taught by both University of Wollongong faculty and local lecturers.

Year 1 consists of PSB's bridging components which are meant to prepare students for further undergraduate work. Year 2 and 3 represent an accelerated programme which allows a typical 3-year degree to be completed in 2 years.

Assessment and Examination

Assessments may include assignments, tests, projects, and final examinations.
 

Duration

The accelerated schedule allows a typical 4-year programme to be completed within 3 years (for O-Levels) or 2 years (A-Levels or Polytechnic). Options are available for those who wish to transfer to and complete their studies in Australia. Students who intend to complete their Bachelor of Commerce in Australia will be required to pay tuition fees applicable on-campus at the time of commencement at The University of Wollongong. The entry requirements for local students are:

3-year programme:

  •  Minimum of 5 GCE 'O' Levels including a 'Pass' for English

2-year programme:

  • Polytechnic Diploma OR
  • GCE A-Levels

Applicants who do not meet the above stated requirements will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the University.
