Bachelor of Commerce (Supply Chain Management)

The Supply Chain Management course provides students with an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge to lead as global managers of people, projects and sustainable systems through supply chain management and information technology.

Supply Chain Management is the concept of moving and handling goods and materials, from the beginning of production to the end of sales process. It includes associated reverse flows such as produce and equipment returns, and recycling. It involves the management of activities including transport, storage, packaging, procurement, and inventory management.

The program integrates theory with practical work applications and emphasises leadership, service, collaborative work, virtual team processes and internet-based communication.

It involves:

  • logistics performance measures and benchmarking procedures
  • world-class processes for customer service and order processing
  • inventory planning and management
  • supply chain integration
  • transportation, distribution and warehousing
  • logistics organisation design alternatives

Course Structure

The programme is specially designed with the objective of giving students with GCE ‘O’ levels or equivalent a head start to an undergraduate degree programme. It is jointly taught by both University of Wollongong faculty and local lecturers.

Year 1 consists of PSB's bridging components which are meant to prepare students for further undergraduate work. Year 2 and 3 represent an accelerated programme which allows a typical 3-year degree to be completed in 2 years.

Assessments may include assignments, tests, projects, and final examinations.
 

Duration

The accelerated schedule allows a typical 4-year programme to be completed within 3 years (for O-Levels) or 2 years (A-Levels or Polytechnic). Options are available for those who wish to transfer to and complete their studies in Australia. Students who intend to complete their Bachelor of Commerce in Australia will be required to pay tuition fees applicable on-campus at the time of commencement at The University of Wollongong. The entry requirements for local students are:

3-year programme:

  •  Minimum of 5 GCE 'O' Levels including a 'Pass' for English

2-year programme:

  • Polytechnic Diploma OR
  • GCE A-Levels

Applicants who do not meet the above stated requirements will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the University.
