Awards & Appreciation Ceremony 2011

It is not very often that you see an entire ‘contingent’ of student leaders gathered together in one venue, as if they were attending a gala event. It was a special event alright; it was the Academy‘s Awards & Appreciation event to honour student leaders and student groups who had contributed significantly to PSB Academy’s student community and campus life!

Beaming with pride and in anticipation, these students strolled into the Concorde Hotel event hall in their best attires as they registered their attendance for the event, held on 27 May.

Our Very First PSB Academy Career Fair 2011

The inaugural PSB Academy Career Fair 2011 organised by Career Services of Student Affairs department took place on 3rd August at the Academy’s Delta Campus. The Fair, opened to the students (both part-time and full-time) and alumni members of PSB Academy, attracted a total of 22 exhibitors and more than 180 registered attendees.

The event boasted an exciting line-up of activities from 5:30pm to 9:00pm and there was never a dull moment at the fair.

PSB Idol 2011- Simply the Best!

PSB Idol has consistently been amongst the most anticipated events of the calendar year. The 2011 instalment of the singing competition promises to be the biggest and best yet, complete with a snazzy new logo amongst other new elements introduced to the contest. For the first time, interviews were conducted with the contestants in order to capture the candid emotions and intensity of this crucial stage.

Round 1 was held over two days where 26 contestants performed. This leg proved to be a genuine treat as the contestants took to the stage for the first time.

PSB Academy launches 2 new full-time Engineering Diplomas

PSB Academy recently added 2 new full-time Engineering Diplomas to cater to the changing needs of the industry. 
 
With the exciting landscape of the clean and green industry in mind, the Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering programme provides an understanding of various green energy sources such as solar, wind, fuel cells, biomass and hydropower. Students will also be introduced to best practices and sustainable technologies to improve energy efficiency and techniques used in energy measurement and auditing.

The other new programme, the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Design is crafted to provide students interested to pursue an engineering career, with a broad curriculum consisting of mechanical engineering principles and concepts.

PSB Academy partners with Auckland University of Technology to launch new programmes

PSB Academy recently formed an academic alliance with Auckland University of Technology (AUT), New Zealand, to launch new programmes in the areas of Cloud Computing, IT Service Science and Network Security. The Academy will be the only Private Education Institution in Singapore to-date to partner with a New Zealand university. Potential students can look forward to the acquisition of skills and knowledge that are highly sought after by the industry. 

More details about the new programmes will be made available in the last quarter of this year.

I am happy to have chosen to study at PSB Academy. Not only was I given an opportunity to study an academic degree of my choice, I also got to participate in the many student activities such as basketball and the Student Council. Back in 2008, when I came to know about PSB Academy through an education fair in Singapore, I merely planned to complete my degree, graduate and then return to my hometown to find a job.

“My Experience at PSB Academy”


It’s coming close to three years since I’ve joined PSB Academy, and I would say it has been a pleasant experience. After I graduated from the polytechnic, I hoped to further my education. I was interested in attaining a degree that was related to the sports industry.

At that point, sports science was yet to be widely publicized by universities, and most importantly, only private schools were offering the sports science degrees. I was first introduced to PSB Academy via word of mouth from friends and believe it was due to recognition. I made my way down to PSB Academy, and found the staff very forthcoming and provided me with sufficient information regarding the partner university, which aided my decision making.
