The ‘Awards & Appreciation’ ceremony was organised on 26 June 08, at PSB Academy, to recognise students for their active involvement in various campus activities. The audience of more than 200 included management staff from PSB Academy and the University of Newcastle. Dr Steve Lai, CEO of PSB Academy and Prof. Tim Roberts (Dean, UoN Singapore) were also there to give away prizes.

You could sense the excitement as students awaited their turns to receive prizes for:

·  Sports competitions- badminton, basketball, cricket, table-tennis, street soccer and volley ball.

·  Special Projects/Initiatives - Student Apprentice Programme, Entrepreneurship Cart, Jetlag   (PSB Band), Donation Drives for victims of Myanmar Cyclone and Sichuan Earthquake

·   Personal contributions to Sports/Performing Arts (Dance club)

·   2nd PSB Academy Student Council Committee Members

The highlight was the award of the ‘Outstanding Student Leader’ to 4 final year students: Felix Surya (UoN, BBus Year 3), Ilung Pranata (UoN, BIT Year 3), Natasha Andrea Vales Canlas (UoN, BBus Year 3), Siddharth Surender Choudhary (UoN, BBus Year 3).

At the ceremony, the audience were treated to singing performances by Erikson (UoN Yr1), Yi Tong (UoN BComn Yr 2) and Juliana (UoN BComn Yr2). A ‘guitar ensemble’ by Goh Yan Ting (UoN BComn Yr2) and her friends gave yet another glimpse of the talents we have at the campus.  

If this celebration is anything to go by we can expect more support for forthcoming student activities.  So, get active and be in it!
