Student Protection Scheme

The Student Protection Scheme (SPS) serves to protect the interest and welfare of all International students in Singapore. Established by the Consumers' Association of Singapore (CASE), SPS came into effect on 1 December 2004.

With effect from 18th February 2010, PSB Academy has switched over to the Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) under the new EduTrust Scheme administered by the Council for Private Education (CPE).

What is the purpose of the Student contract?

For intakes that commenced in March 2010, PSB Academy has adopted the PEI-student Contract approved by the Council for Private Education (CPE).

For students who had signed the CASE-Approved Student Contract, the contract remains legally binding between PSB Academy and its students, and continues to embody the following mandatory requirements:

  1. Clear definition of course details - course title, pre-requisites, qualification awarded, course duration, etc.
  2. Full disclosure of all costs for tuition / non-tuition fees.
  3. Commitment to Student Protection Scheme.
  4. Clear definition of refund policies covering the following:
    1. School's failure to commence course on stipulated course start date
    2. School's failure to complete course on stipulated course end date
    3. School's midway termination of course
    4. Time frame for student withdrawal from the course
  5. Clear definition of dispute resolution mechanisms
