| | Community Involvement Charity Partnership PSB Academy partners the Canossian Special School as its official charity organization at the start of Aug 2012. Its previous charity partner for over two years was the Singapore Children's Society.
The Canossian Special School provides mainstream education for children (primary 1-6) who are hearing impaired in Singapore. The Academy staff and students volunteer and plan various activities with the students from the Canossian School.
Student Community Service Programme
Students are offered a wide range of activities which PSB Academy organises on a frequent basis. Each year, students and staff from PSB Academy partake in the annual overseas community involvement programme to Cambodia. They engage and intreact with the young children in an orphanage and also teach them basic maths, english, arts & craft. PSB Academy believes that through the various enriching experiences gained, coupled with the right guidance from the School, PSB students will better understand empathy and the importance of being socially responsible. They will not only have developed skills, but also be equipped with the heart and compassion to respond more readily to today’s challenging world.
Staff Involvement
Besides contributing to children and youth, PSB Academy’s staff is also educated on awareness of the environment, with a focus on the 3-Rs (Reduce, Re-use, Re-cycle) and Workplace safety policies in place. (For details, please see write-up under ‘Environment Intiatives’) PSB Academy’s reinforcement of its commitment to CSR is also displayed through a company policy set in place that allows staff to be given one day-off to participate in the various community service works.
