Dr. Sam Choon Yin

Dr Sam is currently a Head of School at PSB Academy. His publications have appeared in journals such as Journal of the Asia Pacific Economy, South East Asia Research, Global Economic Review, New Zealand Journal of Asian Studies, Journal of Asian and African Studies and Asia Pacific Viewpoint. At PSB, Dr Sam teaches Economics, Management and
Quantitative Skills.

 
 

Ms Koh Wee Nee
Senior Lecturer

  • Master of Arts in International Relations in Economy and Trade, Flinders University, Australia
  • Bachelor of Commerce, Economics and Finance, Curtin University, Australia

Ms. Koh started her career in the banking and financial industry where she honed her skills for 4 years before joining the lecturing profession. She has taught a variety of subjects in Economics and other business modules ranging from diploma to undergraduate levels. Currently at PSB Academy, Ms. Koh teaches Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Quantitative Skills, and Business Economics to undergraduate students.

 
 

Dr. Lucas S. Karatzas
Senior Lecturer

  • Doctor of Philosophy, Reading University
  • Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours, Reading University

Dr. Karatzas, a highly acclaimed researcher and academic, first began teaching Robotics and Automation at Singapore’s Temasek Polytechnic, before moving to PSB Academy to take up an adjunct position before accepting a full-time role as a Senior Lecturer with the School of Engineering. To date, he has contributed 43 publications to academia and has also presented academic papers at 12 international conferences. Having been a post doctoral fellow at the prestigious University of Bath and University of Reading in the United Kingdom, Lucas has developed a very strong background in research with led him to take up several senior positions in marketing and engineering with large MNCs across UK, Germany, Korea and Singapore. Dr. Karatzas also possesses a Teaching in Higher Education Certificate (THEC) alongside his other advanced qualifications from The University of Reading, UK.

 
 

Mr. Christopher Chiew Poh Hock
Senior Lecturer

  • Bachelor of Business Administration, National University of Singapore

Mr Chiew brings with him a wealth of experience spanning over several industries. A former foreign exchange dealer with DBS Bank, his academic career took off when he first commenced academic duties with publicly listed company TMC Education Group. From designing and developing business courseware to conducting lectures and seminars, Christopher has been successfully discharging other duties such as staff recruitment and overseeing student affairs matters. With more than a decade of teaching experience under his belt, Mr Chiew has been an associate consultant with PSB Academy and was the acting Head of Discipline for Finance and Accounting, and recently took up the role of Senior Lecturer. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore and an Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment.

 
 

Dr. Heng Aik Joo John
Senior Lecturer

  • Professional Doctorate in Trans-disciplinary Studies, Central Queensland University
  • Master of Business in Logistics Management, Curtin University of Technology, Australia
  • B.Sc in Business Administration, University of Oregon, USA
  • Advance Certificate in Training and Assessment (WDA)

Dr Heng has more than 20 years of experience and exposure in the area of Operations and Supply Chain Management. Having lectured both locally and overseas for over 12 years, Dr. Heng covers a wide range of specialties including Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Operations, International Logistics Management, Distribution & Transportation Management, Operations Management, Strategic Management and Logistics Information Systems. He has the ability to relate practical experiences to subjects taught.

 
 

Dr. Hassan Bin Ali
Senior Lecturer

  • BA (Honours), First Class Honours, Double major in Accounting & Information Technology, University of Sheffield, United Kingdom
  • Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management, Singapore Institute of Management, Singapore

A prolific contributor and writer to regional journal and conference publications, Dr. Hassan served as a distinguished guest and speaker in many seminars, forums, conferences and even a television show, to present on a wide range of financial topics to industry and academia. Dr. Hassan list of professional memberships includes: Member, Certified Practicing Accountant, Australia, CPA; Member, National Institute of Accountant, Australia, PNA; Fellow, Institute of Financial Accountant, UK, FFA; Fellow, Association of International Accountant, UK, FAIA and Member, Malaysian Institute of Accountant, CA. Having held positions of responsibility in regional MNCs like Hitachi and Texas Instrument Inc, Dr. Hassan is able to impart practical experience to his students. He has experience teaching at both local and overseas institutions.

 
 

Ms Wong Yee Hwee
Senior Lecturer

  • Master of Science (Statistics), University of Science, Malaysia (USM)
  • Bachelor of Science (Mathematics), Murdoch University, Western Australia

An expert in the area of mathematical and statistical knowledge, Ms Wong combines theory with a practical problem-solving approach in her teaching. Her industry experience includes leading and managing various assembly product lines in a semiconductor manufacturing environment, actively participating in various quality improvement projects and conducting training in manufacturing and audit-related areas. She loves imparting her knowledge to others, inspiring others in achieving their best and creating an interactive learning environment to make learning fun and enjoyable.
