Overview

This programme is one of the most popular and dynamic degrees offered by The University of Newcastle, Australia, Faculty of Business and Law. The programme which consists of 24 modules will start with broad core modules and then progress to one of the major sequences of study offered below:

• Entrepreneurship & Innovation;

• International Business;

• Leadership & Management and Marketing

1. Entrepreneurship & Innovation (Full Time Only)

The is a programme which will allow students to gain vital skills and knowledge enabling them to think creatively and distinctively in new situations and reduce risk in professional practice.

Innovation & Entrepreneurship are at the forefront of economic growth both domestically and internationally. The entrepreneurship and innovation gives students the confidence and skills to launch exciting new business ventures. This major can lead to a career in consultancy or management, creating success and maintaining value, across a range of organisational structures. It also provides the skills required to develop entrepreneurial ideas into successful new ventures, or work within existing businesses in a creative and innovative way.

 

2. International Business (Full Time Only)

International Business is a programme that allows you to develop the skills needed to operate in a rapidly changing worldwide marketplace. As more organisations go global, specialists in international business are increasingly sought after by employers. These organisations require staff that can understand and negotiate the intricacies of conducting business with stakeholders in other countries where political, social, cultural and religious factors influence business practices. The understanding of global markets developed in the international business major is also highly valued in sectors such as finance, manufacturing, IT and energy and resources. International business gives you an understanding of global markets and develops skills needed to operate in a rapidly changing worldwide marketplace. This major will support careers in organisations with an international outlook, allowing you to understand and analyse the framework for global business.

 

3. Leadership & Management and Marketing (Double Major) - (Full Time and Part time)

The Bachelor of Business with a major in Leadership & Management and Marketing is a programme which will groom you to be more business-savvy in order to prepare for the exciting challenges in the new economy. Programme Structure

Programme Duration

This is an accelerated programme which allows a typical 3-year programme to be completed between 16* and 28 months on a full-time basis, and between 16* and 36 months on a part-time basis.

It allows Year 1 as well as Year 2 entry with relevant Diploma qualifications.

Also offered on a part-time basis, this programme allows a direct Year 2 entry and possible completion in 24 months. Applicants must provide evidence of Year 1 equivalence prior to admissions.

Programme Exemptions

* The University of Newcastle, Australia (UON) has developed a number of credit transfer agreements with local Polytechnics and overseas institutions, which may result in shorter duration and course fee reduction. Visit here for more information.

Students can opt to transfer and/or complete their studies in Australia after a trimester completion. Student who transfers to Australia will be required to pay tuition fees applicable on-campus at the time of commencement at The University of Newcastle.

Admissions Requirement

  • GCE A Level (Minimum 3 subjects in H2 level or 2 subjects at H2 level and up to 2 subjects at H1 level); OR
  • 3-year Diploma from Singapore's Polytechnic; OR
  • PSB Academy Diploma in Business Administration; OR
  • Other Diploma or equivalent qualification would be assessed on a case by case basis

All Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the University’s English proficiency requirement. Applicants who do not speak English as a first language must demonstrate that they meet the University's English proficiency requirement through one of the following methods:
