Professor Richard A Williams OBE FREng FRSE FTSE is an engineer and entrepreneur who has worked internationally in academia and has founded several innovation based businesses.

 

He is the Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Heriot-Watt University (UK, Dubai, Malaysia) and holds visiting professorships professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Beijing), Tianjin University of Finance & Economics and at Southeast University (Nanjing). He is an Advisory Board member of the Lloyds Register Foundation, Lloyds Register 100A1 Ambassador, and a Non-Executive Board Director of the British Geological Survey.

 

He has worked extensively in establishing new educational and research collaborations in Singapore, Malaysia, China, Middle East and Africa. He has professional experience in enterprise, innovation and leadership in educational systems and specialises in mineral engineering, energy storage systems and environmental technologies.
