Student Stories

Farid Arrisyad

Class of 2010
,

An avid reader, and careful observer, Farid has come a long way in his career, it is almost hard to imagine that not too long ago, he was still pursuing his Bachelor of Communications in PR & Journalism with the University of Newcastle at PSB Academy. During this time, he recalls writing long news articles which were nitpicked on by the lecturer for every idea, sentence, choice of words and punctuation. What seemed like a nightmare at the time, were challenges that prepared Farid for the creativity and speed that the media industry demands.

The high expectations that were set in PSB Academy itself, left a benchmark of quality in the work that he produced – a skill that has been rewarding, to say the least. While academic life at PSB Academy was challenging in nature, Farid made sure to be active in student organisations on and off campus, one of which was MAPIA, the Indonesian Student Association at PSB Academy. Managing time between studies and other activities made student life all the more exciting – as one hour he’d he is attending a lesson, and the next he’d be rushing for meetings at another campus or even training members of MAPIA’s traditional dance group.

Farid holds the experiences he has gained from his time at PSB Academy close to his heart, as he continues to build his career while he interacts and collaborates with associates around the world as he is involved in the development of market growth in Indonesia by adapting Trivago’s global strategies to meet the countries’ specific needs, with specialization in Search Engine Marketing (SEM).
