Class of 2019
Bachelor of Biomedical Science, La Trobe University

School of Health and Life Sciences

After my Biotechnology diploma at Republic Polytechnic, I was researching science degrees offered in Singapore. My lecturer recommended PSB Academy because I could receive module exemptions with my relevant diploma. Reading alumni testimonials and researching on the university, I decided to enrol with La Trobe University’s (LTU) Biomedical Science degree.

LTU’s curriculum was well-planned and exposed us to the different aspects of science, allowing us to think critically. The lecturers were professional and helpful. Dr Seah Seng Wee provided many perspectives and directions on how to look and think critically, which helped me understand the concept easily.

One of my favourite modules was MED3LAB (currently known as Advanced Biochemistry and Medical Biology Laboratory Course). It gave us industry knowledge on how to work in the lab and help us keep up with the current industry methodology. This helped me immensely in my current career. Currently, working as a Medical Technologist at Labcorp Drug Development, my primary role involves performing next-generation sequencing on clinical samples and verifying teammates clinical samples and calculations.
