What are some new discoveries you’ve made about yourself after taking the Identi3 test?

As a Craftsman, I discovered that I have the natural ability to generate ideas and build them into something original that works. This also explains why I have always harboured dreams of starting a business that I can call my own.

I’m proud to say that I’ve started an online stationery business on Instagram right after graduation as compared to some of my peers who chose the corporate route. It was not easy at the start as I began with nothing more than a small supply of office products with an even smaller customer base.

But that’s where my networking abilities and marketing knowledge gained from my coursework came in handy – as I was able to easily search for potential clients on the Internet and build relationships starting from a small social circle which has now grown into a regular following.

My Carer personality type also helps me in putting “the heart” into my business, and lets me focus more on building better, lasting relationships with my clients and adding value, rather than allow my business dealings to be one-way monetary transactions.

How have those discoveries helped you in your personal life?

Identi3 doesn’t only identify your strengths, but also brings to awareness gaps that you need to overcome.

For example, I’ve encountered situations where I found myself doing more unnecessary work than I should, on my own, just because I jumped on an idea that I thought would work.

So the key thing for myself is to take a step back, and ask myself what my key objectives are, and using my Networking abilities, identify the right people whom I can delegate part of my work to – and to seek their opinions on better ways of doing things. This way I won’t suffer burnouts and will have maximum energy to build my business and generate cash flow.

I also discovered that it is important to set myself clear timelines and to meet the expectations of my clients when it comes to product deliveries, and attending to customer enquiries.

How has Identi3 helped you in terms of your professional development and career?

As a fresh graduate with no working experience, knowing and understanding more about myself gave me the courage and confidence to go against the norm, and to carve out an alternative pathway for success. In my case, it is about doing business.

Would you recommend Identi3 to others? And why?

I will definitely recommend it as it is important to understand what your strengths and shortcomings are. It is through this awareness and commitment to continuous improvement that can help you become a better person both in your personal and professional life.

If you could sum up your experience using Identi3 in one positive quote, what would that be?

“Do something today that your future self will thank you for.”
