Building a Strong Foundation for My Future in Accounting and Finance

As an international student from Thailand, choosing where to pursue my degree was an important decision. I wanted to study in Singapore because of its reputation as a major global financial hub and its proximity to my home country. After exploring different options, I chose PSB Academy for its convenient location, supportive learning environment and strong partnership with Coventry University (CU).

I decided to pursue a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Accounting and Finance with CU because its curriculum aligned closely with my career aspirations. I was particularly drawn to the university's international reputation and its emphasis on developing practical financial knowledge and analytical skills.

Throughout my studies, I found CU's curriculum structured, practical and engaging. What I appreciated most was the emphasis on real-world financial analysis and quantitative problem-solving, which allowed me to understand how accounting and finance concepts could be applied beyond the classroom.

The faculty members also played an important role in making my learning experience rewarding. I am particularly grateful to Ms. Yang Xiaoqi, Mr. Navin Kumar, Ms. Tamilchelvi Chokkalingam and Mr. Veera Balan Pillai for their guidance and support. Their practical teaching approaches and clear explanations of complex accounting and financial concepts helped me strengthen my understanding and approach my studies with greater confidence.

My dedication throughout the programme culminated in achieving First Class Honours. This academic achievement has opened up further opportunities for me, including securing admission to the Master of Professional Accounting programme at a local university. It has also helped me gain interview opportunities with leading organisations in Thailand, including KPMG, Accenture, Shopee and Molly Tea.

I do not believe that studying at a private institution in Singapore has put me at a disadvantage. My experience has shown me that academic performance, knowledge and the ability to demonstrate what I have learned are important in creating future opportunities. Graduating with First Class Honours has strengthened my academic profile and allowed me to progress towards my postgraduate goals.

Looking back, my learning experience at Coventry University at PSB Academy has given me more than an academic qualification. It has strengthened my knowledge, broadened my opportunities and provided a solid foundation for my next chapter in accounting and finance.
