Chen Hui Khim

Alumni Class of 2025
School of Business and Management

I decided to pursue this programme because I wanted to further my studies while continuing to gain hands-on experience in the workplace. As someone who is self-funding my education and managing both work and studies at the same time, it was important for me to find a programme that offers both flexibility and efficiency.

The Business degree at PSB Academy stood out for its one-year structure and flexible learning modes, making it an ideal fit for where I am in my career. It gave me the opportunity to further my studies without requiring me to step back from my professional commitments, a practical and well-considered choice for balancing ambition with responsibility.

My experience at PSB Academy has been thoroughly positive and encouraging. The lecturers are approachable and skilled at breaking down complex concepts in a clear and practical way, making the learning genuinely accessible. The flexibility to switch between online and on-campus classes has been a real advantage, allowing me to manage my schedule effectively and maintain a healthy balance between work and study.

Throughout the programme, I have been exposed to a range of assignments that require applying theory to real-world workplace situations. These tasks have been especially useful in helping me connect what I learn in class to my day-to-day HR responsibilities. It has strengthened my understanding of how academic concepts translate into actual organisational practices.

One of the more rewarding challenges of the programme was navigating group assignments while attending classes primarily online. Building team chemistry remotely required extra effort initially, but it pushed our cohort to communicate more proactively and organise ourselves with greater intention. The experience ultimately strengthened our collaboration and made subsequent group projects far more seamless and enjoyable.

Currently working as an HR Executive in the education sector, this programme has meaningfully supported my professional growth. It has deepened my understanding of workplace processes, communication, and people management, while giving me greater confidence in taking on expanded responsibilities. Beyond the day-to-day, it has also broadened my career prospects and reinforced my commitment to continuous professional development.

For those considering this programme, I would encourage them to embrace the flexibility it offers and manage their time well. Balancing work and study are challenging, but definitely achievable with the right planning and discipline.
