What is your highest educational qualification and what were you doing before joining PSB Academy?

After completing my O-levels, I decided to further my studies at PSB Academy. I started with a certificate programme and progressed to a cybersecurity diploma, which allowed me to explore the field that I’m passionate about.

How did you hear about PSB Academy, and why did you choose to study here?

A friend introduced me to PSB Academy; he had also taken the Diploma in Network Defence and Forensic Countermeasures. He shared that the curriculum is excellent and that the EC-Council certificates are highly valued in the industry.

What are your career goals for the future and why did you decide to take the course you’re studying now?

My primary career goal is to become a cybersecurity expert, focusing on protecting critical infrastructure from cyber threats. I envision working with organisations to design and implement advanced security protocols that shield data from breaches and cyber-attacks. Staying on top of trends like ethical hacking, threat intelligence, and AI-driven security is also a priority for me, as the field is ever-evolving.

I chose cybersecurity because of the growing threat of cyber-attacks and the increasing demand for professionals who can tackle these issues. The dynamic, fast-paced nature of the field intrigued me, especially the idea of being part of the effort to protect sensitive information. Problem-solving is something I enjoy, and the challenge of staying one step ahead of potential attackers makes cybersecurity an engaging and fulfilling career path for me.

Do you think studying at a private institution like PSB Academy has given you an edge or put you at a disadvantage? Can you share any experiences that made you feel that way

Studying at PSB Academy has definitely given me an edge. The smaller class sizes have allowed for more personalised attention from lecturers, making it easier to ask questions and receive detailed feedback. This has made the learning experience much more engaging and thorough, helping me grasp complex concepts more effectively.

What’s the most unforgettable moment you’ve had at PSB Academy?

One of my most unforgettable moments at PSB Academy was celebrating with my friends after finishing a particularly challenging exam. It was a great feeling of accomplishment, and it made me realise how much support and friendship I had gained throughout the course.

What advice would you give to students who are about to graduate from secondary school and are considering their future career paths?

My advice is to take your time exploring different career options and not feel pressured to have everything figured out right away. It’s perfectly fine to experiment and discover your passions along the way. Try out internships, workshops, or even online courses to get a sense of what excites you. Don’t hesitate to seek guidance from mentors or professionals in fields you’re interested in.

At the same time, focus on building essential skills like problem-solving, communication, and time management, as these will serve you well in any career. Most importantly, choose something that genuinely excites you and aligns with your values. Your career is a journey, so pick something that will keep you motivated and fulfilled in the long term.
