Finding Confidence Through Learning
I chose to pursue my Bachelor of Science with Honours in Accounting and Finance at Coventry University through PSB Academy as it offered a direct pathway from my Diploma at PSB Academy. What I enjoyed most about the Coventry University experience was the balance between structured learning and independence. The semester structure, with a few months of intensive study followed by a term break, gave me time to focus on my studies while also allowing me to recharge.
I also appreciated having the flexibility to take responsibility for my own learning. Being able to plan how and when I studied helped me develop better study habits and become a more independent learner. Another feature I found particularly helpful was having recorded lectures. Whenever I missed a concept during a long lecture or struggled to understand something during self-study, I could revisit the recordings and learn at my own pace.
One lecturer who made a lasting impression on me was Madam Yang Xiaoqi. Her ability to explain both theoretical and numerical concepts helped me understand the subject better and stay focused in class. She was straightforward and strict, but always in a positive way. I still remember one of my first few lessons with her, when I managed to complete an assignment in class and went up to check my work with her. I got it right, and that small moment gave me more confidence in my abilities. It encouraged me to participate more actively and put greater effort into my studies.
Looking back, my time at Coventry University through PSB Academy was not just about earning a degree. It also helped me become a more independent and confident learner.
