Completing an MBA had always been one of my personal goals, but work and other commitments meant I had to put it on hold for many years. Although I was already in a senior leadership role, I wanted to strengthen my understanding of strategic decision-making across different business functions. In 2025, I decided it was finally the right time to pursue that goal. After researching different options, PSB Academy stood out because of its strong reputation, flexible learning format and affordability.
Returning to study was a rewarding experience. The lecturers focused on helping us understand concepts through discussions and real business examples rather than simply teaching theory. The guidance from both the PSB Academy tutors and the University of Hertfordshire lecturers gave me the confidence to keep progressing throughout the programme. Learning alongside classmates from different industries and backgrounds also broadened my perspective, as everyone brought different experiences and ideas to the discussions. I am especially grateful to Dr Gomathy for her guidance, encouragement and leadership throughout my MBA journey.
The assignments encouraged me to apply what I learnt to practical business situations, which strengthened both my confidence and strategic thinking. Beyond the workplace, I even found myself sharing concepts on leadership and personal growth with friends during our annual gathering. It reminded me that learning doesn't just stay in the classroom — it becomes part of how we think and interact with others.
Like many working professionals, balancing work, family and studies was my biggest challenge. I stayed on track by planning around assignment deadlines, setting aside time each day to study and making good use of my travel time to revise the course materials. Having a routine made it much easier to keep progressing throughout the programme.
In my current role, I lead business and technology functions across multiple countries, working closely with product, infrastructure, AI and operations teams. The MBA has broadened my perspective and strengthened my confidence when making strategic decisions. More importantly, it has helped me think more clearly about my future career direction.
If you're considering an MBA, my advice is simple: take the first step. There will always be competing priorities, but once you commit to the journey, stay focused and keep going. With discipline and passion, the experience will be well worth the effort.
One belief that has stayed with me throughout this journey is: "Learning has no age limit. Keep your brain active." It's a reminder that there's always something new to learn, no matter where you are in your career.
