Class of 2026
School of Engineering and Technology
  1. How has life been since you started school?

Ever since I moved here, life has been very different. I’ve managed to be truly independent while learning many skills and life lessons on how to manage time, balance studies as well as expanding my social circle as I had a lot of opportunities to mingle with likeminded individuals who are as passionate as me in this field. I’ve achieved near perfect results in Mathematics while also excelling in all other subjects by being active in class and absorbing all the information taught in the modules. Overall, it has been definitely a net positive improvement although there were some rocky moments but life has been smooth sailing ever since I started school.

  1. What made you further your studies with PSB Academy (versus other institutions)?

I contemplated and evaluated PSB Academy against other institutions and concluded that it has its unique strengths that specifically align to my own path. Firstly, its courses are considerably faster with more compact modules, thus allowing me to reach my career goals without delay. Next, its campus environment is catered towards student’s’ growth, especially the STEM Wing and laboratories that are packed with talented mentors and proper equipment. Aside from that, I also have truly grown a liking towards its community and overall system. Lastly, it is also very accessible as it is located in the downtown area with easy access to everywhere important.

  1. What made you embark on your course / discipline? How will this programme help you to achieve your dreams?

I am currently taking the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology and I plan on progressing to a mechanical engineering degree offered by Coventry University. I really feel like it is the course for me as ever since I was young, I have been fascinated with creating and tinkering with machinery and technology. Even now, I’m still very fascinated with physics, engineering and mathematics. It also has an ever-growing range of industries and job opportunities for me to develop on. I see this programme as a foundational bedrock to build my future education and specialisation, thus providing a step further into my career path.

  1. In what ways has your education with us added value to your personal development and professional opportunities? How have our services helped build your character?

I feel like I have sharpened my critical thinking skills as well as further developed my knowledge and understanding of engineering in a lot of different ways. We have been assigned a lot of case studies to analyse the industry and tech companies in general and I believe that they have been very insightful towards my perspective on the subject. It also helped me network with lots of different people whom I envision will aid me in my career growth as well as provided me with lots of extracurricular experiences to add onto my personal experience.

  1. How approachable and helpful were the lecturers/tutors? Was there anyone who motivated you through the challenges of completing your course?

I have truly enjoyed all the lecturers who mentored me across my academic journey. Most of them were very open and approachable, and they were always willing to offer extra help when needed. I was always the front bencher so I spent a lot of time getting to know the lessons and the lecturers always provided a warm and growth-oriented environment that I took a liking too.

  1. What was most memorable about your time at PSB Academy?

It has only been around four months since I moved here so I didn’t really have a lot to pick from but one that always seemed unforgettable was my Effective Communication Module’s presentation in which I subconsciously explained my slides in such an articulate and loud way in the lecture theater with the entire class of around 170 students listening. I somehow wasn’t shy and unlike a lot of the others, can be clearly heard even though I didn’t use a microphone. I always look back to that experience and it taught me that to be brave you have to be afraid but once you burn the veil of anxiety and doubt, success waits on the other side.

  1. What advice would you give to the other students planning to study here?

To anyone out there still in doubt or unsure about what life has ahead of you, please have faith and stay committed as every step that comes to you might just be a massive opportunity to grow towards the future, no matter how absurd and unrealistic it might be. Exactly one year ago, I was entangled in anxiety of what was to come, I didn’t even know what courses or country I was going to choose, however fate works in mysterious ways that always benefit the devout, dedicated and benevolent. Slowly exploring my options, I stumbled here and found myself in a very different world filled with growth and knowledge unthought of before. Whatever it is, remember that by failing we get to learn how to grow even more than if we succeed, so there’s no better time to learn than now.
