Overview

Introduction

The Bachelor of Science with Honours in Artificial Intelligence (Top-Up) programme equips students with practical skills and knowledge in key areas of artificial intelligence (AI). The curriculum covers key areas such as machine learning, neural networks, robotics, intelligent agents, and cybersecurity, and is designed to remain responsive to ongoing developments in AI and its applications across diverse sectors.

The programme develops applied AI skills in areas such as algorithmic modelling, autonomous systems, secure applications, and professional project development, with hands-on experience using industry-standard tools and platforms. Graduates may pursue roles in areas such as machine learning, data science, or robotics, and have opportunities for further study in related fields.

Academic Requirements

Applicants will normally be expected to satisfy one of the following entry requirements:

• A local polytechnic diploma or equivalent in a computing or computing-related discipline; or

• A PSB Academy diploma in a computing or computing-related discipline, with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in computing or computing-related fields; or

• Attained 240 credits of Prior Learning, with 120 credits at FHEQ level 4 and 120 credits at FHEQ level 5, in a relevant subject area. Holders of a Higher National Diploma (HND) or an equivalent qualification supported by work experience will be considered; or

• Other diploma-equivalent qualifications in a computing or computing related discipline may be considered on an individual basis; or

• Applications from mature candidates or those with relevant experience and non-standard qualifications are welcome and will be assessed on their individual merit in consultation with the Coventry University Link Tutor.

 

For non-standard (Mature Candidate) entry, applicants must be at least 30 years old with 8 years of working experience.

Students may be required to complete a Programming Workshop to fulfil the necessary credit requirements.

English Language Requirement

Where English is not the applicant’s first language, an adequate proficiency in English must be demonstrated. This would normally be a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or an equivalent English language test.
