I chose to pursue my Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with Coventry University because of its streamlined progression pathway, which allowed me to advance from my diploma to a bachelor's degree and graduate within a shorter timeframe. It was also one of the few institutions offering a reputable mechanical engineering programme that accommodated my academic progression needs.
I first learned about PSB Academy through an education agency in Indonesia. Having discovered that PSB Academy offered a mechanical engineering diploma with a natural progression pathway to Coventry University, I felt it was the right choice for me to continue my studies.
One aspect I particularly enjoyed about the programme was its project-oriented approach. While the curriculum provided a strong theoretical foundation, it also encouraged me to take greater ownership of my learning and develop a deeper understanding of the concepts through independent study and practical application.
One of my most memorable learning experiences was taking Computational Thermo-Fluids, taught by Dr Goh. I appreciated his teaching approach, which struck a good balance between explaining concepts in detail and providing a broader understanding of the subject. Although the module was challenging initially, it sparked my curiosity about simulations and physics. It also helped me appreciate how engineering principles can be applied to understand the world around us.
As a fresh graduate, I am looking forward to applying the knowledge and skills I have gained as I take my first steps into the engineering industry. I believe that beyond academic qualifications, both technical and soft skills, together with practical experience, play an important role in building a successful career.
Looking back, my journey at PSB Academy and Coventry University has given me a valuable foundation in mechanical engineering, strengthened my ability to learn independently and encouraged me to explore the subject beyond the classroom.
