After graduating with a Diploma in Sport Coaching from Republic Polytechnic, I was researching my next education path when PSB Academy caught my attention. PSB Academy’s partnership with Edith Cowan University, a renowned Australian university in the Sports Science field, stood out to me. 

Receiving module exemptions because of my relevant sports diploma allowed for a seamless transition from my diploma to a degree programme, allowing me to complete my degree in 12 months while ensuring my education remained continuous and well-structured. 

Hands-on Learning with Dedicated Sports Science Labs 

One of the highlights of studying at PSB Academy is the modern Sports Science Lab overseeing the Shenton Way business district skyline. Equipped with advanced equipment such as 3D motion analysis cameras, a metabolic cart, and other sporting equipment, the lab provides a practical learning environment that mirrors real-world applications in sports science. 

Curriculum that Combines Theory and Practical Skills 

The Edith Cowan University curriculum is thoughtfully designed to combine theory with hands-on experiences. From conducting experiments and analysing data to mastering exercise prescription and sports injury management, the programme equipped me with the essential skills for a career in the sports field. I particularly enjoyed applying these skills during group projects, where I created fitness programmes and analysed real-world case studies—valuable experiences that have prepared me for the demands of the industry. 

Aspiring strength and conditioning coach 

My ambition is to become a strength and conditioning coach, specialising in enhancing athletic performance and overall well-being. By using data-driven methods and scientific principles, I aim to design personalised training programmes and develop effective injury prevention strategies, ultimately making a meaningful contribution to the sports industry.

When choosing an educational institution, it’s important to focus on factors like the recognition of the institution and the quality of the curriculum. Private education institutions like PSB Academy offer flexibility, strong industry connections, and well-equipped facilities that can be incredibly valuable for students.
