Shoon Thiri Ko

Alumni Class of 2026
School of Business and Management

My journey into Digital Marketing began when I realised I wanted to build on my General Business diploma and specialise in a field I genuinely enjoyed. Today, I work remotely as a Digital Marketer for an Australian website company, where I manage social media strategies, develop content ideas and analyse campaign performance. I enjoy researching new marketing ideas and exploring creative approaches, while using data to understand what works.

Choosing the right degree

I decided to pursue Coventry University’s Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Digital Marketing at PSB Academy because I wanted an internationally recognised degree that would support my career goals.I first heard about PSB Academy through a friend of my father and decided to do my own research. I was drawn to the campus environment, dedicated study spaces, student activities and career workshops. I also liked that the Digital Marketing course offered relevant subjects that matched my interests and the demands of the industry.

Applying what I learned

What I valued most about the course was its practical relevance. Modules such as Digital Analytics helped me understand campaign performance and data, while Consumer Behaviour strengthened my understanding of target audiences. I also developed hands-on experience with tools such as Buffer, Google Analytics and Figma. These skills have been directly applicable to my current role and have given me a strong foundation for working in the fast-changing Digital Marketing industry.

One of my most memorable experiences was the Designing Online Presence module, where I built a campaign using Figma. The real-world examples and resources shared by the lecturer made the learning experience especially engaging.

Creating my own opportunities

I believe creativity, adaptability and analytical skills are essential to succeeding in Digital Marketing. The industry is constantly evolving, so it is important to keep learning, understand your audience and be willing to try new approaches.I also believe studying at a private institution does not have to limit your career opportunities. With the right skills, experience and attitude, you can create your own path. PSB Academy’s career workshops and fairs also helped me prepare for the job market.

As entrepreneur Chris Grosser said, “Opportunities don't happen. You create them.” I believe that taking ownership of your learning and making the most of every opportunity is the best way to move your career forward.
