With an accounting degree, you can also enjoy exemptions under the Capital Markets and Financial Advisory Services Examination (CMFAS) examinations – which is a requirement if you’re looking to become a licensed financial adviser.

You can enjoy Module 8 (Collective Investment Schemes) exemption if you hold a degree qualification in accountancy/finance/business-related subjects, and Module 6A (Securities and Futures Product Knowledge), 8A (Collective Investment Schemes II) or 9A (Life Insurance and Investment-Linked Policies II)⁴ exemptions if you possess a degree in finance.

As a matter of fact, having a bachelor’s degree or equivalent is an enrolment requirement for Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholders⁵.
