Class of 2026
School of Business and Management

What made you choose to pursue a Full-Time Bachelor of Business (Management) from Massey University?
Massey University's academic excellence, hands-on learning opportunities, and strong industry connections were particularly appealing to me. I chose to pursue a full-time Bachelor of Business (Management) at Massey University to build a strong foundation in business principles while developing leadership and strategic thinking skills essential for managing people and organisations effectively. The programme’s emphasis on real-world applications has encouraged me to think critically and approach challenges with innovation, which are vital in today’s dynamic business environment.

Was there a particular moment or experience that sparked your interest in business, perhaps any dreams of starting your own business?
To be honest, my interest in business started quite naturally. I have always been curious about how companies grow, how brands attract people, and how small ideas can become something impactful. If I had to pinpoint a defining moment, it would be watching my parents build their business selling fresh seafood, where I helped with simple tasks like preparing tax invoices and bookkeeping. Being involved in their business showed me how marketing, pricing, and customer interactions come together to drive real sales. Since then, I have carried this little dream of starting my own business, one that blends creativity, strategy, and real-world impact.

What made you choose Massey University over other institutions?
I was looking for a balance between strong academic quality and a learning environment where I could see myself growing. Massey University’s reputation in New Zealand for offering globally recognised qualifications gave me a confidence in my future career prospects. I appreciate that my degree could open doors not only to opportunities in Singapore but also internationally.
PSB Academy felt more welcoming and supportive. The campus facilities, structured lessons and flexible programmes fit well with my schedule well. At the same time, I wanted a place where I could develop confidence, build networks, and genuinely enjoy my time studying.

Looking back, what are the most valuable parts of your education?
Looking back, the most valuable parts of my education weren’t just the lectures or assignments. It was the soft skills I picked up along the way. Group projects taught me how to communicate and collaborate with people with different working styles. Presentations pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me build confidence in public speaking.
I also really appreciate the relationships I built with my friends and lecturers. From the late-night study sessions with my friends, to the lecturers who encouraged me when I doubted myself, to the challenging group projects we collaborated on that turned challenges into meaningful wins we could celebrate together. These experiences made my journey truly meaningful. More than anything, my education helped me understand what I care about and the kind of future I want to build. It shaped not only my knowledge, but my character, confidence, and curiosity.

How has your learning experience been so far with Bachelor of Business in Management programme with Massey University?
My learning experience with Massey University’s Bachelor of Business in Management programme has been really rewarding so far. The modules go beyond memorising theories. They make me think about how business actually works in the real world, from leadership and people management to the challenges companies face today. I appreciate that a lot of my assignments require research and critical thinking, because it pushes me to connect what I learn in class to current issues and real organisations.

Which modules do you enjoy or think benefited you the most?
One of the modules that has benefited me the most is Fundamentals of Leadership and Teamwork. I learnt how to work with different personalities, communicate better, and manage conflict. The group activities pushed me to step outside my comfort zone and take responsibility when the team needed direction.
I recalled there was a project where everyone had different opinions and the deadline was fast approaching. Instead of panicking, we divided tasks based on each person’s strengths and set small check-ins to make sure no one fell behind. That experience showed me that leadership isn’t about being the loudest in the room. It’s about listening, supporting others, and helping the team succeed together.

How hands-on is this course? Have you had any chance of working on hands-on or research projects?
The course is actually quite hands-on. Many of the modules focus on applying what we learn instead of just memorising theories. Group assignments feel like mini real-world projects, where we analyse actual companies, solve business challenges, and present practical recommendations.
I’ve already had chances to work on research-based projects too. For example, in some modules we collect data, study business cases, and connect our findings to real organisational issues. It makes the learning feel much more alive because I can see how the concepts work outside the classroom.
These experiences have helped me build confidence in teamwork, presentation skills, and problem-solving. It’s not only about getting a grade. It’s about learning how to think and act like someone who will one day lead or manage a real business.
