Flobert Nathaniel

Class of 2026
School of Health and Life Sciences

How has life been since you started school?

Life since starting school was first challenging, adapting to another country, having to live alone, decision making alone. A lot of it was tough but after almost a month, I got used to it and all these experiences has been a huge development of a more matured version of myself. It has really been shaping me as a person to be a grown up while studying abroad.

What made you further your studies with PSB Academy?

I wanted to study in the Sports Science programme, and I stumbled upon PSB Academy which had that exact programme. As I continue to do my research, I’ve seen a lot of graduates from PSB Academy go on out and achieve success. Not only that, PSB Academy also has a number of renowned university partners from across the world to offer a wide variety of study opportunities.

What made you embark on your course / discipline? How will this programme help you to achieve your dreams?

I’m a person who loves sports ever since I was a small kid. I’ve always been in to lots of sports, not just only one. But I used to play football, other than that I’ve also done other sports within my life up until now I’m still continuing my fitness status just not competitively anymore. And I want to help those people who are competing (athletes) or people who want to make their fitness life better to achieve their full potential in their performance. From this programme, it has taught me a lot of different perspectives from different modules that is tied up in the fitness world which is what’s going to make me fully built my foundation up in this area of career.

In what ways has your education at PSB Academy contributed to your personal and professional growth? Are there any specific technical skills, concepts, or class projects that stood out to you or helped you feel more prepared for your future career?

There was this one Practical Assignment from the Methods of Group Exercise module, Basically the assignment is for us to learn how to lead a fitness class with a group of strangers who we completely don’t know. That for me was a new but great experience to do. Even though it wasn’t a group of strangers, but there were still a lot of new friends that I barely knew that I had to lead and motivate throughout the whole assignment. For me that practical assignment taught me a lot on how to not only lead a class but how to embrace the fear of talking to someone new because in this career you are bound to meet someone new all the time with clients and everything. And it is necessary that especially in sports we would introduce ourselves with confidence that would boost our ability to make more connections. So if we can motivate and lead strangers, we can definitely make more connections within our regular daily conversations.

How approachable and helpful were the lecturers/tutors? Was there anyone who motivated you through the challenges of completing your course?

The lecturers here are all very nice and are all very helpful. If we had any questions or if we had any problems with our assignments, we could just simply ask them and they would be glad to help each on of us. I wouldn’t say any lecturer has motivated me, but all of them always make sure we understand the lessons and keep up with our learning.

What was most memorable about your time at PSB Academy?

I would say is making new friends from different countries. I had a lot of fun making new friends here. I knew absolutely nobody when it was my first day studying here. But as it goes by I slowly made new friends and they were from different backgrounds and cultures which was something I really admire. I love making new friends from different countries.
