Frequent Asked Questions

Before Transferring

  1. Am I eligible to study in the Australian or UK Universities?

Students who are currently studying their Undergrad or Postgrad programme at PSB Academy are eligible to apply to transfer their studies to PSB Academy Partner Universities. For example, if you are a current student of UON Singapore, you are eligible to continue the same programme at UON Australia.

 

Diploma graduates who have completed their diploma can apply directly to our university partners to study related-undergrad programmes. Meaning if you have the diploma in Business Administration, you can apply to study Bachelor of Business or Commerce.

 

  1. When can I start studying in Australia or UK?

Students should consider applying for transfer in the final year of their programme. The intake period and programme terms vary between different Universities. It is recommended for students to submit their application at least six months before the commencement date. Refer to Appendix A for the intake dates of the different Universities.

 

Undergrad intakes are generally as follows:

  • Australia universities: Feb and Jul
  • UK universities: Sep (Jan for certain programmes)

 

Diploma students can start applying in the last trimester of their diploma programme. Student would receive Conditional Letter of Offer if they meet the basic requirements of IELTS 5.5 to 6.5 depends on the universities, and all passes in the modules completed. Student should fulfil the offer conditions and submit the complete official transcript of diploma, course outlines and modules description.

 

  1. How much will it cost?

The course fees vary between Universities and the courses you choose. Refer to Appendix B for the estimated annual fee. Students are also required to factor in travel costs, accommodation and meals, books, living costs, and overseas student health cover charges.

 

  1. Can I switch programme?

Students may switch programme however, they should take note that they may receive lesser credit exemption. All applicants are subjected to University’s admissions criteria.

 

  1. What are the criteria for transfer for Undergrad Programmes?

Students are required to meet the entry and transfer criteria set by the Universities.

  1. Degree students transferring onshore:
  • Must pass the modules in the last trimester before the application
  • Must have 8 modules to go

 

  1. Diploma graduates applying Undergrad programme with our university partners:
  • Pass all modules in diploma with grade C and above depends on universities requirements

Achieve IELTS score of 5.5 for UON and UOW, and 6.5 for UWA

Application Process

  1. How should I apply for transfer?

Students are encouraged to submit their application at least six months before the commencement date to ensure that they have sufficient time to make their travel preparation. Students who wish to apply for transfer are required to follow the steps below. SSO will be guiding students with the application process.

  1. Submit an online application via the Universities website or via email. Refer to Appendix D. The turnaround time for students to be informed on the application outcome varies across different Universities. The main documents required are as follow:
  • Application form
  • Passport
  • Transcripts
  • English proficiency results (Eg. IELTS)
  1. Once students receive Letter of Offer, students are required to fill out the ‘Offer Acceptance Form’. Students are required to accept the offer by the stipulated deadline set by the Universities.
  2. Upon receipt of the Confirmation of Enrolment, students are required to apply for visa. Processing time of visa application may vary; however, it typically takes around 3 to 4 weeks. Medical check-up is required in Singapore and a delay from the medical check-up can delay the process.
  3. Arrange for accommodation and airport transfer

 

  1. Can I drop the course after accepting the offer?

Students who decide to drop the course are advised to do so before the census date to avoid academic penalty. If courses are dropped after census date, students will not receive refund of the tuition fees.

Accommodation

There are various living options that students can choose from. Students are required to submit the application after they have accepted the Letter of Offer. Refer to Appendix C for the accommodation options offered by the Universities.

  1. How do I apply for my visa?

SSO has partnered with AUG Study who will facilitate your visa application. You may write in to singapore@augstudy.com.sg to engage their services. Do remember to identify yourself as PSB Academy student to enjoy the special rate.

 

  1. What documents are required for visa application?

To ensure a smooth process, students are required to prepare the following documents:

  1. Passport
  2. Printed Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE)
  3. Microsoft Word document of Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE)
  4. Soft copy of your OSHC Policy Certificate
  5. Details of immediate family members
  6. Past travel details
  7. Evidence of Funds

Students to fill in the respective application form and send the completed form to student.life@psb-academy.edu.sg with the relevant documents.

For Coventry University, students are required to complete their application via the applicant portal (Click here). Upon submission, the application number will be given, which students must then send to this email address: progression.apu@coventry.ac.uk  .
