Davin Aristo Tanjaya

Alumni Class of 2025
School of Business and Management

I knew I wanted to pursue business, but I also wanted a path that was fast, practical, and offered real opportunities to grow.

After finishing high school with A-Level equivalent qualifications, I started researching my options and came across PSB Academy, a reputable private education institution in Singapore. I liked that it partners with credible universities around the world, which gave me a clear, straightforward route to a Bachelor’s Degree.

I decided to enrol in the Diploma in Business Administration as I have always been curious about how organisations operate, make decisions, and create value in competitive environments.

Completing the diploma gave me module exemptions, allowing me to start Year 2 of Massey University’s Bachelor of Business in Management and complete my degree in just 12 months. Their curriculum combines management, organisational behaviour, and marketing with analytical thinking and real-world application, making the transition from diploma to bachelor’s smooth and meaningful.

The diploma not only prepared me for university but also gave me the hands-on experience and skills I’ll need in the working world. Working on case studies and group projects exposed me to real business problems, and through these experiences, I learned to communicate my ideas clearly, think critically, and collaborate effectively with others. I also improved my presentation and academic writing skills, which gave me confidence in tackling both coursework and real-world challenges.

PSB Academy provided a supportive learning environment, and one lecturer in particular, Ms Linda Tan, left a strong impression. She consistently linked theoretical concepts to real business examples, helping us understand not just the “what” but the “why” behind business decisions. Consulting her on assignments encouraged me to think critically and take ownership of my learning.

Looking ahead, my goal is to gain professional experience in a business-related role in Singapore while continuing to build practical skills.

For students deciding their next steps, I would suggest taking time to understand your interests and strengths rather than rushing choices. Choose a course that helps you develop practical skills and a solid understanding of concepts, no matter which discipline you decide to pursue. For me, the Diploma in Business Administration was more than a stepping stone but a launchpad for the next stage of my journey.
