I decided to pursue my degree at PSB Academy because I wanted to strengthen my technical skills and stay up to date with the latest developments in the engineering field. As an engineer who likes to challenge my own limits, I’ve always aimed to be the kind of technical expert who understands what’s happening in the industry and can drive improvements instead of just keeping up.
I’m currently studying the Bachelor of Engineering Honours in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, and this programme is especially meaningful to me because it feels like an investment in the future of engineering. The modules cover programming and system integration, hardware and simulation using platforms like STM32, Raspberry Pi, MATLAB and Simulink, as well as specialised areas such as behavioural robotics. It’s challenging, but I genuinely enjoy it. Completing each project gives me a sense of accomplishment and keeps me motivated.
In my role as a Service Engineer, I work with advanced equipment and support daily operations. The coding and integration skills I’ve learnt have helped me automate repetitive tasks and simplify processes, which has made my work more efficient and impactful.
The journey hasn’t been easy. Balancing a demanding curriculum with full-time work has been challenging and there were moments where everything felt overwhelming. But it has taught me a lot about prioritising, resilience, and managing my time better. Even though it’s intense, I can already see how it is shaping me into a more disciplined and well-rounded professional. Pursuing this degree has already made a big difference in my goals and confidence. It has shifted my mindset from just executing tasks to thinking ahead and creating better, more innovative solutions.
My advice to future students is to build independence and stay curious. In fields like robotics and AI, you need to be willing to figure things out on your own and keep learning. At the same time, don’t forget that support is available. The lecturers at PSB Academy are very helpful, but it’s important to do your part first and approach them with specific questions. This not only respects their time but also helps you grow into a confident professional rather than relying on others to lead the way.
