Ong Keng Seng Victor
Class of 2024
Doctor of Business Administration,
University of Canberra
Having personally undertaken this course whilst balancing the roles of part-time student, weekend lecturer, and full-time professional, I am well-placed to share the challenges and rewards of this rigorous doctoral journey. The programme caters to those eager to advance their knowledge and skills to the pinnacle of education, demanding commitment, perseverance, and effective time management.
The programme also includes Doctoral Weekend sessions, providing an alternative to the more stressful oral presentations commonly associated with doctoral programmes, such as the Oral Defence or Viva Voce. Instead, PSB Academy arranges four in-person sessions at their city campus in Singapore, allowing students to reach key milestones in their doctoral journey. These sessions, officially termed Doctoral Weekends, are chaired by a panel of professors from the University of Canberra. The first two sessions, the Introductory Seminar and the Confirmation Seminar, mark important points of progress. Completing each milestone is a gratifying experience, and it is important to take the time to celebrate these achievements with loved ones.
Completing a doctoral thesis is not for the faint-hearted. Grit and tenacity are certainly required for the successful completion of your thesis, which will be over 200 pages. That said, the highest academic degree awaits you at the end of the journey. If the prospect of pursuing wisdom through acquiring new knowledge, contributing to the body of knowledge, and actually creating novel knowledge excites you, I strongly recommend this course to you.
